Total Learning aims to revitalize public education in the United States beginning with an inner-city school district as its research and application base. The need is undeniable. Too many children are not learning fast enough nor well enough. Moreover, research indicated that language deficits in the early hears grow wider over time. High levels of consensus and readiness at local, state and federal levels exist to invest more in early childhood education. The Total Learning approach is comprehensive, and built upon proven components. The leadership of The Total Learning Institute is ready.

The Total Learning concept provides instruction and family support to children from birth to age 9 thereby capitalizing on the most fertile period for human brain development and the importance of early participation by parents in the education of their children.
Formal independent evaluation will provide data and structure for validation, for continuing improvement of the educational process, and for replication. The evaluation results will be offered to higher education officials nationally to help advance teacher preparation in colleges and universities.

  • A replicable and sustainable approach for implementation in Bridgeport schools and beyond to schools in Connecticut and ultimately the nation.
  • Independent evaluation to test the hypotheses of the program and validate the methods and tools used.

The aim is to engage by 2014 over 1900 K-4 students and 1800 preschool students for a total of 3700 students.
