The ideal Total Learning trainer will demonstrate the following:
- Positive attitude and strong leadership qualities
- Successful elementary and/or middle school classroom experience
- Strong arts background (music, movement/dance, visual art
and/or drama)
- Experience with adult professional development
- Strong writing skills
- Excellent, positive, proactive classroom management skills
- Experience with integrated curriculum design, development,
and lesson planning
- Organizational skills
- Passion for arts-based teaching and learning
- Passion for and liking of children
- Creativity, imagination, child-like thinking ability
- Musical skills such as singing in tune, echoing rhythms,
reading notation, improvising rhythmically and melodically,
composing, analyzing
- Visual art skills such as drawing, painting, sculpting,
making murals, identifying visual symbols, using vocabulary
of visual art discipline
- Movement skills such as basic locomotor and non-locomotor,
choreography, structured and creative dance
- Drama skills such as storytelling, pantomime, tableau, ensemble
work, stage presence, technical staging details
- Understanding of the rationale behind active, multi-sensory,
multi-modal, hands-on, brains-on teaching and learning
- Self confidence and maturity
- Sense of responsibility - punctuality, excellent attendance,
task completion
- Computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, graphics, gaming, videoconferencing
While most individuals will not have strong capacity in
all areas, we seek a few highly skilled,
creative, responsible professionals who have a wealth of experience
to share,
and the skills to share in meaningful and productive ways.
